What happens in episode 1 of Snowed-In with Stepmom
Episode 1 of Snowed-In with Stepmom follows a night drive through snow to a candle-lit family dinner and a stepmother upstairs. It runs 95 seconds.
A night drive under cold blue streetlights, snow thickening on the windscreen. You and your girlfriend, bundled in a parka and red scarf, crunch up a moonlit lawn to her family's house, and by the time dinner is served by candle-light the roads are closed. Four people around a wood-panelled table, snow piling up outside the window.
Her father is silver-haired and talkative; her stepmother, red hair falling past her shoulders, says less and watches more. Episode 1 ends with her in a towel in a steam-filled bathroom, looking up as if someone has just walked in. At ninety-five seconds this is one of the longest openers we host, and it uses the time for atmosphere. Five episodes follow the storm.
