Dad's New Girlfriend — Episode 1

What happens in episode 1 of Dad's New Girlfriend

Episode 1 of Dad's New Girlfriend is a long coffee order: a flirtatious barista who turns out to be your father's partner. It runs 75 seconds.

The first scene is a coffee order that goes on far too long. Behind the counter of a brick-walled café, a blonde barista in a dark-green apron leans on her elbows and sizes up the customer in the grey hoodie; a chalkboard menu and a pink neon sign glow behind her. She laughs, he pays, and for a moment it is just two adults flirting over an americano.

Then the premise lands: Colette is your father's much younger girlfriend, and you are going to keep running into her. The episode ends with you at a window table, frowning at your phone, doing the maths on how bad this could get. Six episodes keep the story tight. The appeal is Colette herself — easy, teasing and completely aware of the effect she has — and the setting keeps the opener grounded and believable.
