A white front door opens onto a sunny porch, and the visitor looks exactly like your girlfriend — same blonde hair, same smile — only louder, in a pink plaid shirt knotted at the waist. Within a minute she is leaning into the lens grinning, and through a gap in a bedroom door you see the two women tugging at that same shirt like an old argument.

The twins are adults with a long history of trading places, and episode 1 makes it a game: can a devoted boyfriend tell them apart, and will he try?
