Not Under My Roof — Episode 1

What happens in episode 1 of Not Under My Roof

Episode 1 of Not Under My Roof is a sunny villa lunch at which the bride's mother cancels the groom's stag weekend. It runs 65 seconds.

A Mediterranean terrace at midday: vines over a wooden pergola, lemons and glasses on a rustic table, a golf bag propped beside the grey-bearded host. Over lunch, with everyone listening, the bride's mother calls off the groom's stag weekend. No strippers, no weekend away — not under her roof.

Episode 1 lets her make the case. She is blonde, gold heart pendant, hair tied back, speaking directly to the camera with complete authority, while a dark-haired woman in white drifts through the kitchen behind the doorway. The series pays off the hypocrisy an hour later, when her private alternative arrives with two friends. Five episodes, bright and sun-baked, played as a comedy of manners with the manners removed.
