## What happens in episode 1 of My Best Friend's Mom Has One Rule

**Episode 1 of My Best Friend's Mom Has One Rule is a house-sitting arrival, a woman in a towel and a door upstairs that must stay shut.** It runs 45 seconds.

Jake arrives to house-sit with a bag on his shoulder and walks straight into his friend's mother coming out of the bathroom — wet blonde hair, a white towel held at her chest, an expression that is more amused than embarrassed. The hallway is white and sunny; his face is a picture.

The rule arrives in episode 1 and gives the series its title: do not go upstairs. The final shot is the back of his head in front of a closed white door, which tells you exactly how long that rule is going to last. At forty-five seconds this is the shortest opener in our catalogue, and it does not waste a frame. Five episodes turn her house into her game.
